In what I thought of as a surprise announcement, Anthony Bourdain will be heading to CNN in 2013 to do a weekend show.
The chef, author and TV star has been on the Travel Channel with his popular series
“No Reservations” since 2005 and I’ve seen every episode since. It’s a travel show that is unlike any other, with Bourdain drinking and eating his way around the world, but also offering unique insights into local culture. It will ruin all other travel shows for you.
But he’s bringing his production team on for the CNN show that will air in prime time on Sunday nights, with re-runs on Saturdays. It’ll likely (and hopefully) be close to the “No Reservations” standards of content and production.
“I’m really looking forward to coming over to CNN. I think the world is going to get a whole lot bigger for me,” said Bourdain. “I hope that old fans and new ones will be excited about what’s coming down the road.”
I can’t wait for his new venture. His previous books are highly recommended. And if you forgot, he was working with Marilyn Hagerty to get a book published.
