Big Daddy’s Lounge and Casino will soon be changing hands. The bar at 1405 DeMers Ave. will be purchased by the owners of Wild Bill’s Sports Saloon, which has five locations in Minnesota.
There are Wild Bill’s locations in Apple Valley, Maple Grove, Blaine, Woodbury and Rochester.
The menu features bar food favorites like chicken wings, burgers, nachos, ribs, flatbread pizzas, salads, wraps, sandwiches and desserts.
Most interesting to me on the menu are the wings and ribs. There’s quite a few sauces you can get on the wings (either boneless or regular) ranging from mild teriyaki to the hottest Wild Bill’s Scorching Buffalo Border Sauce. Check out the full menu here.
There are some enticing specials at Wild Bill’s, too. On Mondays, there’s $5 burgers; Tuesdays have .45 wings from 3-9 p.m.; On Wednesday, get a half pound of ribs for $6.99 and kids eat free from 3-9 p.m.; Thursdays offer .55 boneless wings from 3-9 p.m.; On Friday, there’s $3 you call it cocktails and domestic bottles from 9 p.m.-midnight. And that’s just to name a few.
“Tdubs” on Urbanspoon said while the place in Woodbury has lots of TVs, the food is mostly bland and wings are never spicy. “We feel like this place isn’t sure what it wants to be…Country bar, dance club, bar, restaurant, etc.,” they posted.
“John” says of the Blaine location: “They have a couple things that are really good, like their homemade chicken fingers, and the burgers are good as well. Some of the other items like their wraps are not good at all. They use WAY too many pre-made products from Sysco.”
But you have to take online comments with a (pardon me) grain of salt.
Assuming everything goes as planned, there’ll be a new place to check out on DeMers. Stay tuned for info on the opening date.
