Bye Bye, Grizzly’s

WDAZ reporter Stacie Van Dyke was first to report that the Grizzly’s restaurant at 3000 32nd Ave. S. will close this Monday. About 45 employees will lose their jobs.

One of those employees told Stacie that they were notified just yesterday.

If you’re a fan, you can still get some wings, ribs or burgers until Sunday, which will be the last day it’ll be open.

The location seemed to be a good one, situated right next to the soon-to-be booming Olive Garden that’s set to open January 23. The increased traffic would’ve likely been a boon to Grizzly’s, with restaurant-goers possibly choosing it over the OG if it were, say, extremely busy like the Fargo location.

The Olive Garden could be what the Grizzly’s location needed. It seemed to be doomed, with, at my count, around 4 or 5 different places calling it home before closing as well.

We’ll see if the property is snatched up by somebody else. Here’s hoping.

The Grand Forks location is one of 14 in North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
